CIPA Communications Team Update

We would like to announce some changes to the CIPA Heritage Documentation Executive Committee. Pieter-Jan de Vos has stepped down as Communications Chair / Webmaster. We thank him for his many years of service on the CIPA Executive Committee and wish him all the best. Michelle Duong has agreed to take on the role of CIPA Communications Chair. Supporting CIPA Comms, we are excited to announce that Arnadi Murtiyoso will be joining us as the new Communications Co-Chair.

A message from our new Comms Team:

Michelle Duong, CIPA Communications Chair

Hello CIPA community! I am excited to take on the role of CIPA Communications Chair / Webmaster. Having handled mostly social media roles as CIPA Comms co-chair and former CIPA EP co-chair, there has certainly been a learning curve since taking on this role in August. Now with Arnadi joining us, I appreciate everyone’s patience as we tackle the rest of CIPA Comms tasks together and work through the kinks.

We are also excited to announce that we will be forming a CIPA Comms Task Force to improve outreach to the larger CIPA community. The call will go out to CIPA Expert Members in the new year. We have reviewed the surveys that were filled out this year, have lots of ideas, and can’t wait to hear ideas from the new task force as well.

Briefly about me: I was part of the CIPA2017 Ottawa Symposium organizing committee during my time at CIMS, joined the CIPA Emerging Professionals in 2019, chaired the CIPA EPs with Joe Kallas from 2022-2024, became a CIPA Expert Member, and was elected onto the CIPA Executive Committee during the CIPA2023 Florence elections. I am now serving as a CIPA EC member for the 2024-2027 term. I’m an Intern Architect at KWC Architects in Ottawa, a member of ICOMOS Canada and their Emerging Professionals Committee, and a Professional Member of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals.

Thank you to the CIPA community for your trust and I hope to serve you well.

PJ–you’ve been a wonderful collaborator and I thank you for your support the last few years as part of CIPA Comms and also during my time as EP co-chair. All the best to you!

Arnadi Murtiyoso, CIPA Communications Co-Chair

Hi everyone, Arnadi here. Happy and honoured to be the CIPA Communications Co-Chair and working with Michelle. I have big shoes to fill, but I do hope I can collaborate with many of you for CIPA.

A little about me: my first contact with CIPA was back in 2013 during the symposium in Strasbourg. I then joined some of the first summer schools in 2014 in Paestum, where I was introduced to the exciting activities of CIPA. Since then I have not missed a single symposium, up to my most recent attendance in Seoul 2025. I have been a CIPA Expert Member as well as a member of ISPRS since 2018. Within ISPRS, I also support Commission II (Photogrammetry) Working Group 6 (Cultural Heritage Data Acquisition and Processing) for the 2022-2026 term. Currently, I am a Junior Professor at INSA Strasbourg, where I hold the chair of Digital Twins for Cultural Heritage.

I hope to contribute the little experience that I have with all of you in the CIPA community. See you soon!
