We are pleased to announce that Lydia Konstantinidou will be joining Margarita Skamantzari as the new Co-Chair of the CIPA Heritage Documentation Emerging Professionals Leadership Team.

Lydia is an engineer of building and monument restoration, specializing in the renovation, restoration, documentation and adaptive reuse of historic buildings. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Building Renovation and Restoration (Civil Engineering) from the Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece in Patras and an Advanced Master’s degree in Conservation of Monuments and Sites from the Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation (RLICC-KULeuven). She currently works in an architectural–restoration practice in Belgium and Greece and has professional experience in heritage documentation and restoration projects in Greece, Kosovo, and Belgium.

Lydia has been involved with CIPA since 2018, following her participation in the CIPA Summer School in Zadar, and since October 2021 she has been a member of the CIPA Emerging Professionals leadership team. She has contributed to key CIPA EP initiatives and currently, together with Margarita Skamantzari, represents CIPA EP within the ICOMOS Emerging Professionals Working Group. She is also actively engaged in the heritage community as a member of CIPA HD, the Emerging Professionals representative of ICOMOS Vlaanderen–Brussel (ICOMOS Belgium), and a leadership member of LAPIS (Lemaire Alumni Platform & International Society).

Lydia aims to contribute to the future of CIPA EP by strengthening its role as an open and supportive community for emerging professionals, encouraging collaboration, visibility, and shared learning across disciplines and regions.

Margarita has been Co-Chair since January 2025 and we are excited to see her continue with the momentum of the EP leadership team with Lydia. Thank you to Yogender who has stepped down as Co-Chair.
