Join us for an immersive, hands-on experience in architectural and cultural heritage documentation. Held in the picturesque village of Byurakan, Armenia, we welcome students, researchers, and emerging professionals in architecture, archaeology, heritage studies, geomatics, and related fields, as well as enthusiasts eager to gain hands-on experience.
In this CIPA School, participants will have the opportunity to document the 10th-century St. Hovhannes Church using advanced technologies with seasoned tutors, and to explore this remarkable example of Armenian architecture.
What you will gain:
- Hands-on training in 3D surveying, photogrammetry, UAV imaging, terrestrial laser scanning (TLS), and multi-band recording.
- Practical skills in GIS and BIM integration for heritage documentation.

The 2026 CIPA Heritage Documentation School in Armenia is organized by ICOMOS Armenia and CIPA Heritage Documentation, supported by the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory, ICOMOS, ISPRS, and the CIPA-HD Emerging Professionals.
