7th summer school on surveying cultural heritage

From the 23rd of July to the 1st of August 2018, the Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy) organises its 7th summer school on surveying cultural heritage. This course, which takes place at the Sacred Mount Calvary of Domodossola in Italy, will allow students to get into contact with the practical and theoretical aspects of documenting and managing cultural heritage. Although this summer school is not organised by CIPA, many of the tutors also teach during the annual CIPA summer schools.

The aim of the course is to provide theory and practical insights on the latest techniques to document upstanding architectural remains (such as terrestrial laser scanning, terrestrial and UAV-based photogrammetry as well as GPS and total station survey) with day and evening workshops. Practical activities will be structured so that each participant can experience first-hand the various survey techniques using a variety of equipment and software.

A special day will be reserved for showcasing the Leica Pegasus: a backpack wearable mobile mapping solution offered by Leica Geosystems, a partner and sponsor of the summer school.
